The Woe-Man Series is an exploration of Self.

At the Heart of me is my Caribbean Heritage. A beating Drum of rawness; wrapped in my Canadian Adolescent experience; further cloaked in my Adult Australian way of living.

A layered experience.

I am constantly influenced by all these layers and at times conflicted as to where I belong.

This series is an amalgamation of all these experiences.

A Rendition of Self that is not only about the physical but the intangible.

Daylight dances upon golden skin, glistening with dampness of sweet seat. Floral scents engulf you. Hair swirling and clinging to your body. You sit in the sand, welcoming the salty breath of crystal blue waters at your feet.

THE GOLD INK PLAYS WITH THE LIGHT. ADDING SUBTLE LUSTRE AND A PLAYFUL ELEMENT TO THE PAINTING. AS THE DAYLIGHT SHIFTS THE COLOURS SUBTLY CHANGE.

**“Portrait 2. Bite your tongue, Lady.**” is an explosion of rich, deep burgundy and glimmering gold. It captures a moment withheld in time. A lip is bitten, filled with tension and anticipation. Her fire and vibrant energy rage within her, surging powerfully and then frizzling outwards.
